Host Support Services and Older Carer Initiative – Adelaide Adventure
Host Services and Older Carers Initiative recently collaborated to bring a dream holiday to fruition for one of our Sunshine Coast Clients, Melissa.
By working closely with Melissa's family we were able to assist in creating a wonderful holiday opportunity.
Rather than hear about what we think........it's over to Melissa.
“ I really enjoyed my holiday trip to Adelaide from the 8th to 14th May with my Lifestyle Facilitator Gabby. We had lots of laughs. First stop was at Kangaroo Island where we were able to feed the Kangaroos, patted a Koala & saw some crocodiles up close. The sea was rough for the ferry to visit Kangaroo Island, but this made it all the more fun. It was on to Adelaide for the next four days, our visits included the Chocolate Factory, (Yum) , the zoo, Adelaide Gaol & the Adelaide Oval. We drove to Hahndorf and visited the oldest Australian surviving German settlement & while there visited a barn where we were able to get up close & personal with the animals. The photo taken of me in the heart is at Glenelg, a charming sea side suburb. I was lucky enough to be given two free tickets by a bystander to a NRL football game. It was the first time I have ever been to a live football game & boy do the crowd get excited & so did Gabby & I.”
